The owners Daniel and Susan welcome you into their home where you will be invited to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, accommodation and home cooked food. Ideally located in the heart of the French Alpes and open year round, Chalet Ribot offers a perfect holiday getaway for skiers, cyclists and outdoor lovers alike.
This 200 year old traditional mountain house is huddled among seven other houses in the picturesque hamlet of Ribot Huez, an eight minute drive from the resort of Alpe d’Huez. Its location offers tranquil accommodation a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of the cosmopolitan resort. At an elevation of 1200 meters, the Chalet is surrounded by pine forests and overlooks the valley of Bourg d’Oisans, the view from the Chalet is truly awe inspiring.

The Chalet boasts a magnificent communal lounge which has its original vaulted ceiling, open log fire and spectacular south facing views overlooking the valley and surrounding mountain ranges. Breakfast and evening meals are served in this lounge, where our banqueting style table offers the perfect opportunity to catch up with other guests and discuss the days adventures! A warm, cosy lounge area provides seating for all our guests with home comforts such as satellite TV, DVD, play station 2, games and books.

All our meals are home cooked with the freshest local ingredients. Our winter menu offers our guests a taste of some of the regional specialities such as the beautifully decadent ‘Tartiflette’. In contrast our summer menu is geared towards the health conscious cycling and active clients, offering low fat dishes such as the traditional Spanish ’Potatas Bravas’. We invite our guests to kick back and relax after a tiring day on the bike or the slopes and let us take care of everything!

Chalet Ribot is comprised of four self contained apartments, all within the main house. Each apartment is unique in size and style and can accommodate between two to five people. The apartments are completely self contained with their own entrance, offering privacy to our individual groups of clients. Each apartment has its own kitchenette, lounge, shower room, WC and bedroom.

The layout of the Chalet provides our guests with the opportunity to choose between self catering or half board accommodation. Our half board guests are invited to enjoy their breakfast and evening meal in the Chalets principal lounge. Those choosing to self cater can avail of the local supermarkets or the many restaurants in Alpe d’Huez and the village of Bourg d’Oisans.

Chalet Ribot welcomes groups of all sizes from couples to extended families or large groups of friends. Our Self catering prices range from 44 euros per person per night to 54 euros per person per night, depending on the time of season. Half board accommodation is available from 59 euros per person per night to 69 euros per person per night, again depending on the time of season. Children under five years are free of charge and those between the ages of five and twelve are offered a 30% discount.

Chalet Ribot offers a flexible changeover day policy, so as to provide our guests with the opportunity to avoid Saturday traffic and to avail of the more reasonably priced mid week flights.

WINTER INFORMATION
The resort of Alpe d’Huez has over 238 km of linked pistes and is home to the famous Pic Blanc. The Sarenne, the world's longest ski piste is 16 km in length and descends over 2200m in vertical drop (one hour of downhill skiing!)

Alpe d’Huez is linked to the resorts of Vaujany, Villard-Reculas and Auris-en-Oisans.
It also has 20 legendary off piste ski routes, one half pipe and a snow park. If you want more then why not visit Les 2 Alpes, it is right next door and you have a day visit included on the six-day Visalp ski pass.

Resort characteristics: 37 green runs, 31 blue, 32 red and 17 black runs. Two special areas exclusively for beginners, one floodlit run, 50 km of cross-country ski trails, 30 km of hiking paths and one night sledge run.

Chalet Ribot operates a private shuttle service from Chalet to piste (approx. 8 minutes).

SUMMER INFORMATION
Open from April through to October, Chalet Ribot is the ideal location for holiday makers wishing to enjoy the many activities in the local area. From climbing to rafting, horse riding to swimming, there is something for everyone! For those wishing to just lie back and relax, why not enjoy our south facing garden with a glass of wine and a good book!

The Chalet also offers specialist cycling accommodation for some of the thousands of visitors who flock to the area to enjoy the gruelling climbs and exhilarating descents offered by the French Alpes. Local climbs include Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Galibier, and Col du Glandon to name a few. At the Chalet we have details of all the local climbs, a bike wash area, secure bike shed and all the tools you may need! If you fancy taking part in the famous, ’La Marmotte’ race or would like to enjoy the Alpe d’Huez stage of the Tour De France, then Chalet Ribot is perfect for you!

For those looking for a little more danger, Alpe d’Huez and the neighbouring resort of Les 2 Alpes offer all levels of mountain biking tracks. The Mountain of Hell and Mega Avalanche downhill mountain biking races are hosted by both Alpe d’Huez and Les 2 Alpes.
