Description

Located on a sunny plateau, Alpe d'Huez is a fantastic resort to keep all the family busy. The resort is surrounded by lush meadows on all sides and has a richness of flora and fauna. It's famous as a finishing place for the Tour de France, when millions of cycling fans decend each July when the apporach road becomes one of the most energy-sapping climbs of the the Tour!

The village of Alpe d'Huez offers a wealth of activities and leisure facilities that are hard for any resort to beat. You can access the mountains easily via the mountain lift system, which allows access to the Glacier (July only), or taking advantage of the walks and hikes around the area. There are gentle rambles through the meadows or you can head further afield into the mountains and enjoy the spectacular views and the traditional villages of Vaujany and Oz en Oisans. Back in the village the sports centre has an array of activities available, and the resorts boasts a summer luge, Heritage Centre, mini golf, tennis courts and much much more.
