This ski area offers many possibilities, with an altitude range of 800 to 1600 metres, this sector of the Grand Massif is warmly welcoming and easily accessible as it is situated close to the road. 34 kilometres of ski runs, 6 ski lifts, 10 trails and 4 snow blowers. All kinds of activities are possible in marvellous surroundings that are ideal for children and beginners. There are red and black runs too which will satisfy the more experienced skiers. Thanks to the 'Cascade ski tow' , the Sixt Fer à Cheval ski resort is directly accessible at the bottom of the Cascades ski run.

There are many snow based activities that can be enjoyed at your own rhythm, skiing, hiking, climbing or just easy walks. Make the most of all the winter activities on offer in this marvellous area.

Cross country skiers know and love the Haut-Giffre cross country domain. From Samoëns to Sixt Fer à Cheval there are 46 km of marked ski trails in perfect harmony with the surrounding landscapes and which are also equipped for the skating technique. Snow trekking is also popular with several marked itineraries have been created for snow trekking. This activity allows you to get a totally different feel of snow, far from the hustle and bustle of the ski runs. A book is available at toursit office for 5 €.

Ski Touring - Magnificent outings are organised in the 'Grand Site' of Sixt Fer à Cheval and its surroundings, a must for those who want to experience nature in all its glory. Ski touring is a very physical activity that calls for a good level of ski and you are strongly advised to go only with a professional guide with excellent knowledge of the area.

Sixt Fer à Cheval is one of the main sites for ice climbing in France. For both beginners and the more experienced there are sixty odd itineraries from 40 to 500 m high. The 'vallon de Sales' sector is perfect for beginners.

For a pleasant change, experience the joys of dog sledding. A great experience to share with family or friends.
