Walking
750 to 3100 m, Sixt Fer a Cheval is in the middle of one of the networks of the most important natural reserve in Haute Savoie. You will have access in a few minutes with the most beautiful excursions of the Valley.
Rafting
The river Giffre is just perfect for white water sports. There are several starting points along the river. You will pass through the centre of the village of Sixt as you go down the river, watched and encouraged by the crowd of summer visitors
Climbing & Via Ferrata
Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned climber you are bound to find something to suit you in the limestone cliffs to be found in Sixt Fer à Cheval. There are several different sectors, the most accessible being the Tines sector. Here climbers of all levels rub shoulders as there are several passages ranging from 5a to8a.
Mountain biking
Mountain biking also plays an important part. Marked circuits for all levels are available. Some of them are accessible via the Vagnys ski lift. The descent from Fer à Cheval to Samoëns is a classic not to be missed. Other ski lifts in the Grand Massif are open during the summer period, in Morillon, the Carroz and in Flaine. This gives access to 600km of marked mountain bike trails.
