Chalet Epicea has been home to generations of a local family in the Savoie, but it has been recently beautifully renovated, and lends itself to the perfect, relaxing chalet holiday. When we first stepped into Chalet Epicea, we fell in love with its stunning interior, amazing fireplace and fantastic setting. A typical Savoyard building made of stone and wood and with exposed beams, we have worked hard to make the interior contemporary, stylish and comfortable, but still in keeping with its roots.

Located right on the edge of the Vanoise National Park, Chalet Epicea is set in a truly idyllic woodland clearing, but is still only minutes away from the centre of the friendly village of Les Coches. In winter, all but the most nervous of skiers can ski or board right back to the door, and in the warmer months, hike or bike out through the National Park on signed trails. And as well as views of Mont Blanc as a backdrop, if you’re lucky, you may even spot our resident fox, or perhaps even a chamois or wild boar.

Accommodating up to 13 people in 6 bedrooms arranged over 3 floors, this spacious, detached chalet benefits from cosy, under-floor heating, a terrace and balcony, and has a huge, open plan dining and living area, perfect for for chilling out after a hard day on the slopes.

You can choose to settle down with a drink on one of our four comfy sofas before a roaring log fire; opt for a book from our well-stocked library and retire to the comfort of the rocking chair, or chat with your friends at the thick, wooden, handcrafted dining table.

Or if you want to keep up with the latest news or movies, you can wile away the hours watching Sky TV in glorious HD on the 42” widescreen plasma TV, choose from a selection of DVDs, or have some electronic fun with the X-box360.

Chalet Epicea has six bedrooms arranged over three floors, accommodating up to thirteen people. All our bedrooms have been tastefully decorated with contemporary home furnishings to make guests feel welcomed and comfortable.

On the ground floor, there are two ensuite twin rooms, and one triple with its own bathroom & separate toilet.

On the first floor is a bright and airy double bedroom with ensuite, and its own access to a large terrace offering outside space to those brave enough to dare it in the height of winter!

The two bedrooms on the top floor (a double and a twin) are partly set into the eaves, making them extremely cosy. They share a large bathroom, so this is the ideal combination for a family. Wherever possible, we only ever rent these rooms out to a family or a group of four, so there's never any untoward bathroom sharing.

For Winter periods, we only offer half board catered holidays for one week, Saturday changeover. During Spring/Summer/ Autumn, we offer flexible board inc HB (day and weekly rates), BB (day and weekly rates) and self catering (weekly only) for up to 13 - please contact us for pricing.

Because we run the business and the chalet ourselves, it means we can dedicate our time to giving you a personalised and flexible service. Want a cake for your child's birthday? Done. Fancy a day off the slopes, shopping? Easy, we'll run you into town ourselves. And as we run our own 7-seat 4WD, we can pick you up from the bar before dinner if you've lost track of time after a hard day on the piste. Or simply give you a lift to the hire shops so you don't have to lug your board or skis the short walk home. It's all part of the Alpine365 experience.

The perfect location

Les Coches sits on north facing slopes at more than 1,450m, making it a very snow-sure resort for season-long skiing. But for absolute peace of mind, we offer a unique snow guarantee – if you can’t ski in Les Coches, we'll simply take you to a resort where you can ski, free of charge. We’re Duncan & Toorna Salmon, co-owners of Alpine365. After 13 years of working in Marketing in London & Berkshire, we both decided we wanted a total change in lifestyle. So we left our jobs in the UK, got married and moved to the French Alps to set up our business – all in the same year!

We look after you during your entire time in the chalet, from producing a gorgeous dining experience, making the chalet a welcoming home from home, and giving you advice on where best to ski or board.

We’re both mad about honest, wholesome grub made with fresh local ingredients, and love nothing more than entertaining and meeting people from all over the world. We live in an apartment attached to Chalet Epicea the whole year round, so we’re always on hand to help, whatever the season

Duncan’s passion is skiing – he’s skied since he was a nipper in most resorts around the world. Toorna’s still a bit of a novice on the slopes but improving fast – so watch this space!
