A 19th century alpine farmhouse converted into a luxury boutique ski chalet offering very spacious accommodation right in the heart of Paradiski. Tucked into the wooded hillside under the village church, Maison Caramel has thick stone walls, flagstone and wood floors, log stoves and feather duvets for those chilly winter evenings.

Open all year and perfect for a relaxing ski or summer holiday, Maison Caramel is located on the edge of Landry, an old alpine village in Peisey-Vallandry (part of Les Arcs and Paradiski) surrounded by orchards, meadows and woodland. It’s just a short walk to the local bars and restaurant.

Stylishly renovated to blend modern comfort with alpine charm, we own and manage the farmhouse ourselves. The farmhouse has all the home-from-home comforts you’d expect, with fabulous skiing, walking and cycling right on your doorstep

Each of the bedrooms has its own character and individual style, but all aim to preserve the feeling of French farmhouse simplicity. There are polished wood floors, designer shower or bathrooms, and large balconies or terraces with views of the nearby mountains, river or village.

Catered to a high standard, we use organic and locally sourced ingredients where possible, and specialise in tasty, soul-satisfying farmhouse cooking.

It's just a few minutes from the ski slopes of Les Arcs and La Plagne in our chauffeured minibus. We drive you to the lifts and back whenever you’re ready. For the more adventurous, there's also easy access to Three Valleys, Tignes Val d'Isere and Sainte Foy. We can run ski safari trips for a small additional charge.

Arranged on three levels, Maison Caramel offers you:
- 6 spacious ensuite bedrooms (one is a self-contained studio on the ground floor of the chalet), most with balconies or terrace
- Guest robes, slippers, hair dryer and complementary toiletries in all rooms
- Large sitting room with the exposed stone wall of the original barn, gorgeous red enamelled log stove and mountain views
- Dining room with doors opening out onto the sunny garden and terraces
- Split level library / TV room with a log stove and cosy sitting area, and doors to the garden grotto
- Infrared sauna, WIFI internet, satellite TV, DVD and stereo
- Heated boot room and large ski room (shared with Chalet Caramelli)
- Laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer

The catered service includes:
• Breakfast with fresh fruit, bread, cereals, fruit juice, yogurt, muesli and a daily special. One day it might be fried eggs or French toast, another, porridge or scotch pancakes
• Home baked cakes or biscuits with hot drinks in the afternoon
• Delicious three-course evening meals with excellent local and Spanish wines. Our menus aim to balance local dishes with a modern mix of British and mediterranean style cuisine
• Early supper for children not eating with their parents (we design the menu in consultation with you)

The farmhouse is available catered, B&B or self-catered. Sole occupancy is possible for groups of 12 or more, and there's a 5% discount for full chalet occupancy. Large groups can rent both Maison Caramel and its sister chalet, Caramelli (on the top floor of the farmhouse), to give a total of 10 ensuite bedrooms / 27 beds.

B&B to B&B alpine meadow & village walks

Starting from Maison Caramel, each day you walk at your own pace through beautiful alpine meadows, villages and forests in the Tarentaise mountains to one of the charming B&B’s we’ve chosen along the way. Each night you enjoy delicious 3 course evening meals with regional dishes and then set off the next day after breakfast when you’re ready.

Our B&B to B&B walking holidays for groups and individuals have no fixed start date. Prices range from 295€pp for 3 nights, to 890€pp for 10 nights, based on a minimum of two people sharing a room. Alternatively, use Maison Caramel as your base, and do a different circular walk each day. Prices from 225€ for 3 nights to 445€ for 7 nights.

As well as maps, luggage transport and walking notes, the prices include breakfast, picnic lunch, accommodation and a three course evening meal each day (wine is extra).

Cycling and MTB holidays in the French Alps

We’re a great base for Alpine cycling and MTB holidays – just a short ride from challenging climbs, and epic single track. Prices from 225€pp.

Whatever kind of riding you enjoy, whether a flat amble through meadows on the 25km riverside cycle path, heading off with a guide for some wild back country riding, or a gruelling road climb with fantastic mountain scenery – we’ve got easy access to it all.

Road cyclists can wind their way up country roads past rural hamlets or try one of the famous climbs accessible from the chalet - including the Col d’Iseran, Cormet de Roseland, and the Col du Petit St Bernard.

For downhill and cross-country mountain bikers, the nearby ski resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne offer a massive choice of fabulous lift-accessed riding. The lifts are just a short drive from the farmhouse in our minibus.

We’re flexible about your arrival day and length of stay. Prices start from 225€pp for 3 nights, to 445€pp for 7 nights. Prices include accommodation, breakfast, picnic lunch, and three-course evening meal with wine. We offer free station transfers (Bourg St Maurice). Airport transfers from 60€.
