Description
In summer this resort is said to be the most picturesque in Austria. You can understand why it was voted the most beautiful floral village in Europe by an international jury in 1993. Typically a fairytale setting with meadows and forests set against the magnificent mountain backdrop. A great place for ramblers, sightseers or those who just appreciate the unspoilt beauty of this area.
There are approx 160kms of hiking routes through the breathtaking Alpbach valley. The meadows offer gentler strolling with beautiful views. There are walking routes to suit all levels from gentle to energetic with the gondola available to reach the higher ridge walks. An adventure card is available in resort, which gives you access to the resort lifts. The tourist office offers guided walks throughout the summer.
This resort is also a good choice for the activity enthusiasts. The excellent indoor heated swimming pool is worth a visit and there is a selection of mountain bike trails around the village. The tourist office also has a programme of activities during the summer.
