Description

Welcome to CairnGorm ski area Scotland. The snow sports take place between December and April, depending on snowfall; with winter operating hours usually between 9am and 4pm depending on daylight. There are more than 30km of ski runs as well as a fully maintained snowboard park; with cross country skiing also popular and Disability Snowsports UK offering snow sports tuition for the disabled. The most popular resort to stay in is Aviemore which is 9 miles from the CairnGorm Mountain car park, Both Stagecoach and Citylink operate regular bus services to Aviemore and from Aviemore Station you can get a bus up to CairnGorm Mountain. Likewise there is a main train station in Aviemore and regular trains from Edinburgh, Perth, Glasgow, Inverness and even an overnight sleeper from London. The nearest Airport is Inverness , just over 1 hours. CairnGorm Mountain is home to Scotland's only mountain railway or funicular as it is sometimes known. It is a unique visitor experience and allows people of all abilities to reach the Ptarmigan Restaurant and weather watching terrace in around 8 minutes from the Base Station. From here you can enjoy stunning views over Strathspey Other places to stay include: Kingussie, Carrbridge, Netybrige, Boat of Garten, Newtonmore, Dalwhinnie & Grantown of Spey. Please note; all of the distances specified on the property are relative to that particular resort and not the ski range. Ie: distance to resort etc.
