Description

Bormio, one of the most renowned wintersports resorts in Italy, is situated close to Switzerland at the foot of the Stilfserjochs. The over 2000 year old health resort is situated at a basin valley between the majestic mountains of the Ortler group. Bormio is particularly well-known as the venue for the alpine ski world championship in 1985 and 2005. In addition, the world cup race at the famous "Stelvio" descent takes place here between Christmas and New Year. Not only experts will get their money's worth in Bormio, all abilities are sure to enjoy the skiing, due to the broad slopes above the treeline.
