Description

With about 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, Font-Romeu is one of the sunniest areas in France. With altitudes from 1,800 m, this modern ski resort is very snow-secure. A breath-taking view of the surrounding mountains is also guaranteed. The former spa and pilgrimage site was home to the 1968 French Olympic Team's training camp, and is still famous today among many athletes for this high altitude training camp. The proximity to the Spanish border makes a trip to Barcelona a must. The second-largest city in Spain is just approximately 2 hours by car from Font-Romeu. The very well-connected ski area Font-Romeu and Pyrenees 2000 offer pistes for skiers of all levels of experience. At altitudes between 1,712 and 2,213, diverse and varied descents promise a wonderful holiday. The almost 500 snow canons can cover up to 80% of the ski area with artificial snow, guaranteeing great snow conditions. Always adjusting to the current trends in freestyle skiing, the snow park with rails, boardercross and much more, offers particular variety for snowboarders and expert skiers. You'll have many different opportunities to end your active day of skiing in Font-Romeu. In the centre, bars invite you in to enjoy live music and great cocktails. If you're looking for something a little quieter, head to one of the numerous restaurants and try out the exquisite culinary mix of modern cuisine and traditional specialities. If you're looking for a real one-of-a-kind experience, pay a visit to the sled-dog farm, where you can even try your luck at the reigns! The cross-country ski area of Font-Romeu and Pyr
