It is located approx. 10 km north-east of Kufstein at the border of Bavaria and is towered over by the Niederndorferberg and the Hechenberg, which has been crowned "Maria Heimsuchung" (Mary visitation) due to the famous pilgrimage church. Spacious hiking routes invite you to relaxed winter hiking in the fresh and clean mountain air. Enjoy the view of an impressive mountain landscape with breathtaking scenery. The Koseen im Kaiserwinkl ski area is approx. 18 km away and offers 30 km of piste for the whole family. A day trip to Munich is also possible, as it is only approx. 85 km away. In this ski area at 1,700 m altitude skiers can find easy and intermediate pistes. Thanks to the geographical condition of the northern edge of the alp the pistes can be constantly used from mid December to the beginning of April, additionally, flood lights also secure the valley run. From Kossen a modern 6-person gondola takes you up to the "Barenhutte" (bear's hut). The ski area, with its smooth runs is especially made for beginners and families. An excursion into the ski area of Walchsee (Zahmer Kaiser with further 25 km of pistes) is with its majority of easy pistes recommendable for small and big ski newbies. Experts will find enough opportunities to let off steam in the easily reachable ski area of the Schneewinkel. With St. Johann in Tyrol, Waidring, St. Ulrich at the Pillersee and Fieberbrunn many well-known pistes are directly in front of the accommodation. But also in Kossen demanding runs can be found, e.g. the 7 km long Unterberghorn run (1, 000 m altitude difference) or the 4 km long Scheibenwald- valley run (600 m altitude difference). Experts have the opportunity to try themselves out on the 2 km long race track (600 m altitude difference). The pistes are all together well prepared and the hospitality is perfectly adjusted to the guests.
