Description

Sestriere has extensive snow making on most of the slopes, with skiing to suit most abilities. As part of the extensive Milky Way, it's an excellent base in which to explore this area. skiing Sestri̬re - Olympic pistes for everyone! Situated directly on the French-Italian border at 1,360 - 2,823 m is the extensive Via Lattea ski area. Entrance to the ski area is possible from both the French and Italian side. With 400 kilometres of piste and 85 lifts, the "Milk Street" offers gigantic fun on the pistes to meet all demands! Via Lattea, which became famous through the 1997 Ski World Championship and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, has many challenging runs. In the evening, one can enjoy "la dolce vita" in the cosy restaurants or enjoy the great apr̬s ski atmosphere in the bars and discos. Sestri̬re - Olympic pistes for everyone! Sestri̬re is 100 km from Turin and is situated at an altitude of 2,035 m. As such, the famous resort was the highest hosting resort of the 2006 Winter Olympics. Both of the hotel towers at the resort entrance have been Sestri̬re's landmark for years, and served the 1,700 athletes and their attendants as an Olympic village. Architecturally, Sestri̬re is reminiscent of a French ski resort - the ski region is typically Italian, though. Off the piste there are many leisure activities, e.g. heated outdoor pools, tennis, squash and the highest 18-hole golf course in Europe. In the evening, you can enjoy "la dolce vita" in the cosy restaurants or get carried away by the great apr̬s ski atmosphere in the bars and discos.
