At the eastern end of the Chamonix valley lays the French ski village Vallorcine, right on the border to Switzerland. At an altitude of 1,260 m it is located at the foot of the Aiguilles Rogues and provides a wonderful view of the Mont-Blanc massif towards the south-west. Although some of the world's largest and most popular ski areas can be found not so far from here, this resort has maintained it's beautiful mountain village charm.

In Vallorcine you can still find tradition and tranquillity, away from all mass tourism. Guests can experience a quite, yet sporty and active ski holiday in this picturesque area, where access to the ski area Balme-Les Autannes, and a number of winter hiking trails can be found in close proximity. Various ski schools within the resort offer qualified lessons for skiing, freeriding, telemark skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoe hikes, as well as Nordic Walking and trail running as all-year sports. If this is still not enough to keep you entertained, within only 20 minutes by car you can reached the neighbouring ski metropolis.
